From the first music radio shows broadcast at the Muehlebach to dinners at the Savoy or Peppercorn Duck Club early hotel and dining spaces throughout the city catered to guests with a sense of pride that defines our present day culture of service and hospitality. By 1980 many of these notable historic hotels and restaurants in Kansas City had either been closed or demolished but their stories live on through old menus, dishes, and letters written on hotel stationery.
