Growing up listening to stories about shows at the Drum Room and ball games at Municipal Stadium compelled me to save what I could over the years to share with visitors to my hometown. Many of these pieces represent a past steeped in theater and musical history, world class luxury hotels, and nightclubs filled with dancers and orchestras. Times when silent film stars mingled with presidents or when sports legends drank with drag queens and mafia bosses. Some pieces are artifacts from times when Kansas City dominated the national railroad, livestock, and garment industries. Some are reminders of fires and floods and tragedies that might have otherwise been forgotten. Items on this page were sourced from auctions, estate sales and private collections over the course of 32 years. Whether you grew up in Kansas City or this place is your new home I hope this site serves as a source of inspiration as much as a means of starting or adding to an already prized personal collection.
